100% natural supplements to counter stress: what qualities should they have?

To counter stress, natural supplements need to have very specific characteristics, so that they are truly effective and of high quality.

  • They must contain specific plant extracts, that is, plants whose action is targeted at bringing relaxation and a good mood.
  • The formulation must be based on standardised dry extracts. You can check this on the label. In the list of ingredients you should see, for example, “Melissa e.s. tit. …”, where “e.s. tit.” is the Italian abbreviation for “estratto secco titolato”, meaning “standardised dry extract”. This abbreviation is the main indicator of a product’s quality. Supplements formulated with standardised dry extracts give you the certainty that the plant’s active ingredient is present and that it always remains consistent over time, even across different batches.
  • The packaging must be pharmaceutical-grade dark glass. Glass is the only material that can truly protect a product’s ingredients, as it prevents light or heat from altering their composition. What’s more, by buying a product in glass you make a more eco-friendly choice and avoid putting even more plastic into circulation!

In addition, the ingredients in an anti-stress product:

  • must be able to bring calm and serenity,
  • but at the same time must not cause drowsiness during the day.

A natural supplement for stress: Rilassa Mente

Rilassa Mente has all the characteristics a natural supplement needs to be useful and of high quality!

It is formulated with plants that help counter stress, tension and recurring thoughts (that constant mental churning).

Here they are:

  • Griffonia: the happiness plant! Its main action lies in its ability to provide 5-HTP (5-hydroxytryptophan), the precursor of serotonin, also known as the “good mood hormone”[1]. It is also very helpful for controlling the feeling of hunger[2], another sore point when we are tense and worried.
  • Jujube: do you know the Italian expression “Essere in brodo di giuggiole” (literally, “to be in jujube broth”, meaning to be overjoyed)? There’s so much wisdom in our Italian sayings. The seeds of this plant, in fact, have a relaxing effect on the nervous system and support relaxation and mental wellbeing[3]. This means feeling calm and serene, both mentally and physically.
  • Lemon Balm: a very well-known plant, used above all in evening herbal teas. Taken as a standardised dry extract, it has a targeted action on localised tension and nervousness. Its leaves promote relaxation and normal mood[4].
  • Hawthorn: for hearts that race too fast! Hawthorn is the plant that calms the heart, because it promotes regular heart rhythm and blood pressure, and generally supports the function of the cardiovascular system[5].

What if, on top of stress, there’s also mental and physical fatigue?

Keep reading: we talk about it in the next section!

Supplements for mental and physical stress and fatigue

It’s normal to feel tired, both physically and mentally, when you’re going through a very intense, high-pressure period. Especially if you don’t have the right support by your side!

Alongside the “number one” formula for stress, Rilassa Mente, you can take natural supplements containing specific ingredients to counter tiredness.

  • Energea+ New Formula, with special allies to help you burst with energy! In fact, it contains Spirulina[6], Ashwagandha[7], Royal Jelly[8], Ginseng[9], Grape Seed[10] and Manganese[11]. All these components help the body produce energy naturally. No caffeine or nervous system stimulants. Energea+ New Formula can be taken by everyone (aged 12 and over), even those who need to keep an eye on their thyroid. Spirulina is, in fact, a freshwater microorganism that does not contain significant amounts of iodine.
  • Glutatione Forte: a pool of antioxidants at your disposal! In one capsule you get Reduced Glutathione[12] and Quercetin[13] (at the maximum permitted levels), plus Naringenin[14], Selenium[15] and OxiP®[16]. A unique blend to counter free radicals and feel full of energy!
  • Goji Juice: obtained by directly cold-pressing the famous “berries of long life”. A liquid supplement containing a wealth of nutrients, perfect as natural energisers and for stocking up on vitamins, minerals and amino acids in a natural, tasty way[17].

Supplements for study stress

Tests, oral assessments, exams… Studying in general can be a source of stress, especially when we know we have to sit a test and prove that we are well prepared.

To stay calm and at the same time be super focused, here are the plant extracts that can help:

  • with the natural ingredients of Rilassa Mente (Griffonia, Jujube, Lemon Balm and Hawthorn), you can tackle studying and exams while staying serene, calm and in a good mood. Stress and agitation will be a thing of the past![18]
  • with Memosan, thanks to its 100% natural ingredients (Bacopa, Schisandra, Reishi, Rhodiola and Centella), you support memory and concentration and can give your best when studying, because you stay concentrated and focused on what you’re doing![19]

And if you also struggle to “get going” in the morning, what you need is the Memory and Concentration Programme.

It includes the formulations of:

  • Rilassa Mente
  • Memosan
  • Energea+ New Formula: based on extracts that provide your cells with the nutrients they need to be at their best (Spirulina, Ashwagandha, Royal Jelly, Ginseng, Grape Seed and Manganese). Stock up on energy and vitality!6-7-8-9-10-11
  • Organic Maqui Juice: made only from cold-pressed organic Maqui berries. Its rich supply of antioxidants[20] is really useful for your student life!

This combination of natural ingredients will keep you active and “on the ball” all day long!

Stress-related hair loss

Stress, especially when prolonged, can also affect the wellbeing of your hair, even to the point of causing hair loss[21].

If you’ve noticed this happening to you, you should know that, as well as providing specific nutrients that keep your hair beautiful and strong, it’s a good idea to tackle the “stress” factor too.

You can do this with a natural supplement based on plant extracts that help counter stress and generally promote emotional calm, keeping tension out of your days.

Salugea’s Rilassa Mente formula, with Griffonia, Jujube, Lemon Balm and Hawthorn, has exactly these specific characteristics! You can pair it with Kiomasal, which, for its part, contains key active ingredients for hair growth and very important nutrients for the hair bulb, such as Bamboo, Nettle, B Vitamins, Quercetin[22], Iron, Zinc, Selenium and Copper (useful for natural hair pigmentation).

Anti-stress supplements to support a balanced metabolism

Thanks to a controlled diet and physical activity, you’re feeling better, but is something still getting in the way of your metabolic balance?

Could it be stress? Does it also turn into emotional hunger that tends to undo all your efforts?

Well, yes: stressful living conditions and mentally very intense periods can make it hard to control your hunger.

To stop food from becoming a source of comfort and getting between you and your goal, you can use certain plants with specific properties that help you feel calmer during the day and support your good mood.

If you find the “sunshine” within you, you won’t need to look for it in the fridge any more!

In Rilassa Mente18 you’ll find specific extracts that help with this need.

  • Griffonia: the good-mood plant par excellence! By providing the precursor of serotonin[23] (5-HTP), it directly supports your mood!
  • Lemon Balm: perhaps the best known in everyday use. It is very helpful for promoting relaxation and supporting mood.
  • Jujube: do you love jujubes, or have you never heard of them? If it’s the latter, all you need to know is that Jujube seeds support mental wellbeing and relaxation.
  • Hawthorn: the flowers and leaves of this plant are also useful for mental wellbeing, and they have something extra too: they support normal cardiovascular function and regular blood pressure.

Stress and immune defences

Do you think stress can affect your immune defences? The answer is yes.

There’s even a whole discipline, PNEI (psycho-neuro-endocrine-immunology), that studies the relationships between the mind, brain, endocrine system and immune system.

Prolonged stress, with constantly high cortisol levels, has negative effects on the body. The first warning signs are sleep disturbances and difficulty in maintaining a balanced diet. And little by little, the immune system starts to weaken too[24].

If you find yourself in this situation, you can act on two fronts at the same time: counter stress and support your immune defences.

You can do this with the active ingredients of the supplements in the Immune Defences and Stress Programme!

Specifically, this supplement programme includes:

  • Rilassa Mente: which contains specific plant extracts of Griffonia, Jujube, Lemon Balm and Hawthorn to counter stress and promote a good mood.18
  • DKE + Magnesio: which, thanks to its Lichen extract, can provide up to 2,000 IU of vitamin D3 a day!
  • Glutatione Forte: based on an innovative, unique blend! A very powerful antioxidant concentrate. It also provides Reduced Glutathione[25] and Quercetin[26] at the maximum permitted intakes.
  • Organic Aronia Juice: a pure, preservative-free liquid supplement made from organic Aronia berries. The juice from these berries provides a wide variety of antioxidant molecules, such as Anthocyanins, Carotenoids, Lutein and Zeaxanthin, which are useful for all-round support and protection of the body.[27]

Supplements for stress and mood during the menopause

The menopause is a complex period of transition for women. One of the very common signs of this phase is irritability. Alongside it, a sense of restlessness and unexplained sadness sometimes appears too.

For targeted, complete support, you can combine the formula of Pausanorm Forte – which contains Red Clover, Kudzu, Dioscorea villosa, Vervain and Angelica Sinensis, 100% natural ingredients with a phyto-oestrogenic[28] and phyto-progestogenic[29] action, for complete hormonal balance and to counter menopausal discomfort – with Rilassa Mente.

Rilassa Mente in fact contains plant extracts that help you regain emotional calm and a good mood (Griffonia, Lemon Balm and Jujube).

Anti-stress supplements plus good habits

To get the most out of your supplement programme with the Rilassa Mente formula, here are a few tips.

  • Watch your diet. A healthy, balanced diet will help you have enough energy throughout the day.
  • Do some physical activity that helps you release tension and get back into balance. Activities such as yoga and Pilates, which focus on breathing, are very helpful in these situations.
  • Listen to relaxing music.
  • Do something creative, such as drawing, experimenting in the kitchen or gardening. Choose whatever suits you best!
  • Spend as little time as possible on social media. You’ll be amazed at how much free time you’ll have for your favourite restorative activities!
